INFINITT Smart Router Accelerates Migration of Six Million Studies from 7-year Old Legacy PACS

Phillipsburg, NJ - June 28, 2010 - INFINITT North America, affiliate of INFINITT Healthcare based in Seoul, South Korea, announced the completion of the world's largest PACS replacement project, with the migration of more than 6 million studies and over 200,000,000 medical images. A PACS migration gateway called INFINITT Smart Router was used to provide fast and accurate transfer of image, patient and report data from the legacy PACS to the new INFINITT PACS solution at Seoul National University Bundang Hospital.

INFINITT Healthcare is a technology leader in the development of web-based RIS, PACS, Cardiology PACS, Mammo PACS and Advanced Visualization solutions, and one of the only PACS vendors to develop its own gateways and migration tools. A key benefit of the INFINITT Smart Router is that it drastically reduces the conversion time for switching over to a replacement PACS because it allows pre-fetch and query of prior studies in the foreground during background data migration.

INFINITT has more than 1700 PACS installations worldwide, and has completed 70+ large hospital migrations from twenty different PACS solutions. Knowledge and experience migrating data from a variety of systems has allowed INFINITT to fine-tune its migration methodology, smoothing the way through all phases of migration and PACS upgrade.

The gateway also merges patient records to eliminate duplication or conflict. Progress can be monitored, and audit logs verify that data and images have been transferred successfully.

Seoul National University Bundang Hospital consists of six centers: Geriatrics Medical Center, Heart Center, Cranial Nerve Center, Lung Center, Articulation Center, and the Health Improvement Center. The hospital also encompasses 23 departments, is connected with the highest levels of Korean medical technology at Seoul National University Hospital, functions as a national medical center for adult and elderly diseases, and serves as a general treatment and emergency center for residents.
